Thanksgiving Collaboration with Ledge Light Health District

Connecticut Foodshare has encouraged food pantries around the state to identify opportunities to collaborate. The New London Area Food Pantry and The Place, operated by Ledge Light Health District, had been cooperating as neighboring pantries. For Thanksgiving 2025, we were able to take this cooperation to the next level by collaborating in a joint Thanksgiving basket distribution to 990 families. Volunteers from both pantries came together over one day to provide a successful and seamless distribution of turkeys/chickens, potatoes, onions, carrots, apples, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, breads and deserts to our guest families. Everyone enjoyed the experience.
